# Transfer License To a New Domain

{% hint style="danger" %}
Typically, you activate the license for the development domain (for example, yourshop.myshopify.com). When you purchase a new domain to link to your store, you must deactivate the old registration first. **It's crucial to note that if you neglect to take this initial step, your domain connection won't be established because the license is still associated with the old domain.**
{% endhint %}

### To ensure a smooth process while adding a new domain, kindly follow these steps:

1. From **Theme Settings,** go to the **Purchase Code** tab > **Purchase code action** > **Remove Purchase code**
2. Once you have added the new domain, please select '**Activate Purchase Code**' from the drop-down menu.

If you accidentally added a new domain before performing this step, please reach out to our support team for assistance; they will be happy to help you. **Please Note**: do not give a 1-star rating in an attempt to expedite support for this issue. We are committed to resolving customer problems promptly. **Rating 1 star in the hope of a quicker resolution, which is not feasible, will result in waiting until we file a complaint with Envato regarding this unjustifiably negative review.**
{% endhint %}
